Nonostante fosse stata già annunciata, la HBO ha comunicato che VINYL non avrà una seconda stagione. Queste le parole dell’emittente al riguardo: “After careful consideration, we have decided not to proceed with a second season of Vinyl”, e ancora “Obviously, this was not an easy decision. We have enormous respect for the creative team and cast for their hard work and passion on this project”. Ideata da Martin Scorsese e Mick Jagger, la serie aveva registrato un calo d’ascolti e numerose recensioni negative nel corso della sua prima stagione.
